ADOLFO CAMBIASO JOINS HOBE SOUND POLO CLUB
World’s greatest polo player takes membership at Florida’s new polo development
Wellington, FL – Hobe Sound Polo Club welcomed Adolfo Cambiaso as its newest member this week as the world’s leading polo player announced plans to use Florida’s recently-launched polo development as a base for his winter horse operation.
“It’s a great honor to have Adolfo join as a member,” said Andres Weisz, who founded the Hobe Sound Polo Club with Merle Jenkins and Ted Brinkmann. “He visited the property with me this winter and immediately liked it for its location, its dry land and potential as a base for his horses coming from Argentina.”
Cambiaso will continue to play competitive polo in Wellington and keep his top string in town for the high goal season at International Polo Club, Palm Beach. His intention is to spend downtime during the winter season at the Hobe Sound Polo Club to ride and practice horses that he will bring over from his embryo-transfer breeding program in Argentina, to train and market in the United States.
“I was impressed by the club and the plans for its development,” said Cambiaso. “It is a great opportunity for me to have a larger horse operation in Florida during the high goal season.”
Weisz and Cambiaso are in partnership to build a barn and a private field at the Hobe Sound Polo Club. “The club will have great communal polo facilities as well,” said Weisz. “And I think it is a fantastic opportunity for players – both amateur and professional – to invest in affordable acreage in Florida. The Hobe Sound Polo Club aims to be a dedicated polo facility with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for players and families to play and enjoy polo at all kinds of levels in a spirit of good sportsmanship.”
The Hobe Sound Polo Club is located seven miles from the beach inland from Jupiter, 20 minutes from Palm Beach International airport and 30 minutes from Wellington; and 10 minutes from the Palm Beach Gardens Mall. The first phase of the development offers 20-acre parcels. The club will have five competition fields, two stick and ball fields and a track as well as a clubhouse and extensive interlocking trails throughout the facility, which adjoins over 8,000 acres in the Atlantic Ridge State Park providing additional recreational riding for members to enjoy.
